\"\"I have been sewing and ‘playing’ with many forms of textile arts all my life and I have studied textile design (craft arts) at University of NSW.<\/p>\n

My daughter began dancing in 2007 and it wasn’t long before I was sewing for her dance school.\u00a0 Since then I hav<\/span>e made many costumes for dance eisteddfods, ice skating competitions and end of year concerts.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am always looking for ways to increase my knowledge and sewing skills by attending workshops. I have completed courses on traditional tutu construction, stretch tutus, pleating and dyeing techniques and wired and beaded tiara construction.\u00a0 In 2016 I completed the Origami Tutu workshop run by Anne Thytherleigh of Tutu Couture<\/span>\u00a0and Stagewear, becoming one of the few people in Australia able to make an Origami tutu.<\/span><\/p>\n

When creating a design I draw on all of\u00a0these experiences to produce a unique costume that compliments the dancer and choreography.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
